Purpose

The conference was
never the problem.

Conferences are where professionals go to change something. The week after is where it is lost — and the week after has always been nobody's job.

People go to change something

A skill. A direction. A business. A career. Nobody books the flight, the hotel, and three days away from their desk by accident.

Companies spend seriously to send their people. The conferences are good. The speakers are good. The rooms are full of professionals who mean it — who take the notes, make the contacts, and resolve, sincerely, that this time will be different.

Then comes the week after

The notebook closes. The inbox takes over. The ordinary urgencies of the job reassert themselves, and the extraordinary few days quietly become a memory of having been inspired.

This is not a failure of character, and it is not a failure of the conference. It is a gap in the design: the organiser's job ends at the event. The employer's job was sending you. Your job is everything else. What happens next belongs to no one — so it happens to no effect.

The enemy is evaporation

The information doesn't get stolen. It doesn't get argued with. It evaporates — quietly, in the ordinary weeks after an extraordinary few days, while everyone involved had the best of intentions.

So let this be said plainly: the enemy here is not the conference, and it is not the person who attended it. The enemy is evaporation.

Will you let that great idea disappear? Does the information turn into evaporation?

Our job is the week after

Great Conference, Now What? exists to own the part of the conference nobody owns: everything after it ends.

We catch what the conference produced — the ideas that landed, the intentions that formed — and carry them into action, habit, and results: an extraction in your own words, a plan built from it, human instructors coaching the habits, a weekly working session, and reminders that hold you to what you said mattered.

The definition of the work is one line: the consistent application of valuable information. The information was valuable. The application is the service.
